Shira and Mawenzi have lost their peaks due to erosion but Kibo, which is the youngest, has not suffered erosion and remains a perfect cone.Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 19,340 feet and has justifiably earned its nickname, the roof of Africa. There more than a thousand people that reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro on January 1, 2000 to see the sunrise on the mew millennium from the roof of Africa.
